OUR Story
The name “Jungle Beach” was inspired by a drive along the southern coast of the caribbean island of guadeloupe.
…but the brand started way earlier. I began making jewelry as a kid with a small plastic bead making machine, but started designing in earnest in 2012, soon after moving to Brooklyn. I had been perusing Henri Bendel on 5th Avenue with my friend, totally in love with the jewelry. I couldn’t stop thinking, “I can do this.”
So I began experimenting with jewelry projects large and small, simple and complex, accumulating way too many supplies along the way. I began selling at summer markets in 2015, and the brand has grown and evolved since then, from Fa Hong Kong (a musing on adding color and flair to traditional Chinese motifs I grew up with spending summers in Hong Kong) to A Pop of Color (loads of color and tassels and fun), and now Jungle Beach, inspired by my love for exploring and snorkeling at various tropical beaches around the world.
Our pieces are made by hand, by me, in Brooklyn or Los Angeles. Many of my materials have been found on trips through Asia or the Caribbean.
